VMworld 2011 Day 1

Day 1 of VMworld is over. There were announcements of new versions of products like View 5 and vCloud Director 1.5. One thing that I learned yesterday was outside of what you normally think of with VMware. Zimbra is expanding beyond email. Project Octopus brings online collaboration to the Zimbra product set. In the demonstration yesterday, clients were used on OS X, iPad, and Windows to share files. Of course, there is web browser access as well. They also demonstrated the ability to edit the files without downloading them.
